During his long stretch in prison, Dufresne comes to be admired by the other inmates -- including an older prisoner named Red -- for his integrity and unquenchable sense of hope.

Offensively Good. Watched in a sweatshirt, sweatpants, drinking a cold Spotted Cow. Somehow a very cozy movie for one that involves a guard paralyzing a rapist and a sweet old man who commits suicide. Movie that satisfies all your cravings with the ending and sometimes it’s nice to indulge.
